The Crow(2024) Review

Image
There's a reason why this movie has been in developmental hell for close to 20 years. This is the movie franchise no one wanted to be in or direct. Since 2009, a Crow reboot has had multiple people drop in and out. Here's a comprehensive list: Most people didn't want to compete with the original film because it's considered a cult classic due to the untimely on set death of star Brandon Lee, and its gritty gothic take of the James O'Barr graphic novel. People involved from the original movie such as director Alex Proyas, stars Ernie Hudson & Rochelle Davis were vehemently against this movie. Hell even Shannon Lee voiced her opinion over this reboot! But some brave soul decided to go against the grain and make this movie, so here we are. The Review: My expectations for this movie were extremely low. I mean really low. When I saw the trailer months ago, I thought to myself "Yea this is going to fucking suck". But I like to torture myself at times for t...

FAST X REVIEW

Image
Fast X review:  To say this is a stupid fucking movie is an understatement. There’s no integrity or art making involved. These movies used to mean something. Now they’re just mindless action movies. They make Michael Bay’s movies look like Casablanca. At this point everyone knows these movies are just cash grabs. They’re extremely profitable, and that’s why Universal Pictures keeps green lighting them no matter how bad they are. The last three movies have grossed: Furious 7: 1.5 billion Fate of the Furious: 1.2 billion  F9: 726 million  Fast franchise total: 6.9 billion  When you’re making this type of money quality doesn’t matter. The review:  Like I said in the opening of this review, this is a stupid fucking movie. Not only is it a stupid fucking movie. It’s an inconsistent movie. First off, the main villain of the story is Dante Reyes. Dante is the son of Fast 5’s villain Hernan Reyes who was robbed of 100 million dollars by Dom and his c...

House Party (2023) review

Image
When it was announced in 2018 that LeBron James and his production company were rebooting beloved classic “House Party”, expectations were already at an all time low. I mean how do you remake an iconic film like the original “House Party”? A film so revered that In 2022, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". With that said, let’s begin with the review. The review House Party(2023) is the sixth movie in the House Party franchise, and when I say it’s the worst movie in the series, I mean it. Yes worst than the one with Immature(House Party 4: Down to the Last Minute) Yes worst than the direct to video sequel from a decade ago(House Party: Tonight’s The Night). House Party (2023) is truly a nonsensical movie. It lacks the coming of age-feel good nature  of the first movie. It lacks the motivational & educational purpose of the se...

Dr. Strange & The Multiverse of Madness review

Image
I’ll admit, my expectations for this movie weren’t that high. I feel like the trailer & tv spots gave away WAY too much. Also, ever since End Game the MCU shows & movies have been hit or miss. But with that said I tried to go into Dr. Strange: The Multiverse of Madness with an open mind. For the first time since 2007’s Spider-Man 3, Sam Rami is directing a superhero movie that’s really a horror movie. His handprints are over this movie. If you’ve seen The Evil Dead you’ll know what I’m talking about. It’s been 6 years since Dr. Strange has had his own solo film, but at times it feels likes he cameoing in his own film with the introduction of America Chavez, and Scarlett Witch’s continued storyline from Wandavision.  The movie is an acid trip like the first film. The visuals are out of this world, and I highly recommend watching in 3D if you can. But despite all of that, it doesn’t feel like your Avengers level blockbuster in terms of epicness. It’s a rather ho-hum Ma...

Zack Synder's Justice League Review

Image
I am man enough to admit when I am wrong. I have been extremely critical of Zack Synder movies over the past few years. I thought 300 sucked. Man of Steel was awful. Batman vs. Superman was boring and convoluted. The only Zack Synder movies I really liked was Watchmen (1st viewing) & Dawn of The Dead Remake. My expectations were extremely low, as most folks were. But, after a slow first act with storytelling, the movie really starts to pick up. The re-shoots/re-edits & and the removal of the corny ass humor make this a better viewing experience. This is the movie they should've released in the first place, but Warner Bros. couldn't keep their hands out of the cookie jar when they hired Joss Whedon to put his spin on the film. The movie ties up loose ends, and everything falls into place. Everything makes sense, whereas in Whedon's film, nothing makes any sense. Zack Synder perfectly placed small backstories for the minor characters that help people understand thei...

COMING 2 AMERICA REVIEW

Image
I must say, I was excited for Coming to America 2 when it was in pre-development. I mean who wouldn’t be excited for the sequel for one of funniest movies of all time. Well, that excitement went out the window when I saw the trailer, and that the movie received an PG-13 rating instead of the first movie’s R-Rating.  The review: Coming 2 America was originally meant to come out in theaters, but because of the ongoing pandemic & other factors, the movie was sold to Amazon Prime. I can see why. This movie is probably one of the worst sequels of all time. It’s up there with some of Eddie’s career lackluster sequels such as Another 48 hrs, Beverly Hills Cop III and the Nutty Professor II. At times the movie feels like an extended sitcom. All’s that’s missing is a Laugh track. The movie is mostly unfunny & uninspired, and it suffers from the super woke, gynocentric, cancel culture climate that we’re currently living in. It’s very tame compared to the last movie. It’s a...

TEN YEARS OF MADNESS: THE U MAD STORY PART III

Image
Being a content creator isn’t easy when you first make a page. For the most part, you are posting for yourself because your reach is so low. I’d say a page doesn’t become a page until you get at least 1,000 likes, and then you’re off to the races. When U MAD got deleted for the first time, I was in that very position. I would post memes all day, but I wasn’t getting any traction. So, I decided to create a story that would get everyone’s attention. Now, 2013 is the year where hoaxes and fake news really began, and I would take advantage of that. In the winter of 2013, U MAD used hoax generator and created our first “Tyler Perry” story. The story was so absurd that we didn’t think people would believe it. The first story we created was that Tyler Perry was pulled out of his SUV by a bunch of Mexican landscapers on the highway, & almost beat him to death. The story caught on like wildfire. The post had thousands and thousands of shares, and over a million reach. The story got U MAD to...
